Paddle Board Rental Policies
To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all our lake-loving customers, please review the following rental policies. By renting equipment from us, you agree to adhere to these terms and conditions.
1. Rental Requirements
- Age Restrictions: Renters must be at least 18 years old to sign a rental agreement. Minors under 18 must have a parent or legal guardian sign the agreement on their behalf and must be accompanied by an adult on the water.
2. Safety Guidelines
- Personal Flotation Devices (PFDs): PFDs must be worn at all times while using our equipment.
- Prohibited Substances: The use of alcohol or drugs before or during the rental period is strictly prohibited.
3. Equipment Use and Care
- Inspection: Renters are responsible for inspecting all equipment before use and reporting any issues to staff. Failure to do so may result in charges for damages.
- Proper Use: Equipment must be used solely for its intended purpose. Do not drag boards over rough surfaces or use paddles to push off the bottom, as this can cause damage.
- Cleaning: Equipment should be returned free of trash and excessive dirt. A $25 cleaning fee will be charged for equipment returned in a severely soiled condition.
4. Rental Periods and Fees
- Duration: Rental periods are specified at the time of booking. Late returns will incur additional charges. Equipment that is not returned (theft) will incur a fee equivalent to the full purchase price of the equipment.
- Late Fees: Equipment returned later than the agreed-upon time will incur a late fee.
- Early Returns: No refunds will be provided for early returns.
5. Cancellations and Refunds
- Cancellation Policy:
- Cancellations made at least 14 days prior to the rental date are eligible for a full refund.
- Cancellations made between 7-14 days prior to the rental date will be charged a 25% cancellation fee.
- Cancellations made within 2-6 days of the rental date will be charged a 50% cancelation fee.
- No refunds are available for cancellations made within 24 hours of the pick up time or for no-shows.
6. Liability and Insurance
- Assumption of Risk: Renters acknowledge that paddleboarding involves inherent risks and agree to assume all responsibility for any injuries or damages that may occur during the rental period.
- Liability Waiver: All renters must sign a liability waiver before participating.
- Insurance: Renters are responsible for any damage or loss to the equipment during the rental period.
7. Prohibited Activities
- Unauthorized Users: Only individuals who have signed the rental agreement and waiver are permitted to use the equipment.
- Restricted Areas: Renters must adhere to designated paddling areas and avoid restricted zones.
- Fishing: Fishing from our paddleboards is prohibited.
8. Emergency Procedures
- In Case of Emergency: Renters should carry a cell phone and call 911 in case of an emergency before contacting AK Paddle Ventures.
- Retrieval Fee: If staff must assist or retrieve you on the water, a retrieval fee will be charged.
